Bob Peedle delivered a speech on the aims of the Royal Society of St George, namely the furtherance of English interests and opposing anything that threatens the interests of England and the Commonwealth.
Geoffrey Littlejohns, also of the Royal Society of St George, followed with a speech from the perspective of a history teacher on the teaching of Britishness to English school children. Geoffrey made the point that patriotism cannot be taught and expressed the belief that it is through the teaching of history that English children will become better citizens. The most popular section of Geoffrey’s speech was when he described the British Parliament as “not fit to be our Parliament”.
