Unlike David Cameron, the Campaign for an English Parliament support England all year long, and we are proud to fly the flag of England all year round, not just ‘for the duration of the World Cup‘.
If David Cameron had any passion for England he would fly the Cross of St George everyday of the year and he would put England on an equal footing with the other World Cup qualifying nations.

At the 2014 World Cup will England – as defending champions – still be the only team representing a nation that is a constitutional non-entity? We at the Campaign for an English Parliament sincerely hope not. But we are where we are, and for now, on the eve of World Cup 2010, we have no hesitation in saying:
Come on England, from all at the CEP

Good luck England!!! Of course we have a national anthem – God Save the Queen, and we have a Parliament in London. For nearly everyone abroad, England and Britain are interchangeable so they cannot understand what the issue is.
June 11th, 2010 at 6:47 amNot according to David Dimbleby on last night’s Question Time they’re not, Steve: “but David Cameron’s the prime minister for the United Kingdom, isn’t he, not England?” Exactly! So who is the PM for England, and where is the English PM’s residence where the English flag can be proudly flown during the World Cup, then? Shall we all go around replacing our Crosses of St. George and other English symbols with the Union Flag, then, so as not to confuse everyone else in the world? I don’t think so!
June 11th, 2010 at 7:45 amEngland and Britain are certainly not synonymous to the Scots, Welsh and N Irish, Steve, and many fans in those countries get quite annoyed that England appears to have appropriated the British national anthem. Your reponse reflects a typical ‘Greater Englander’ position which regards the national differences within the UK as unimportant. If some of those abroad do not understand that the UK is a multinational state it is up to us to make the position clear. It is after all not a ‘Great Britain’ team that will be competing in South Africa and it now appears unlikely that there will be a Great Britain football team in the 2012 Olympics.
June 11th, 2010 at 11:08 amI would have thought that by now you people would have known that Steve is a cowardly wind-up merchant, who cares not at all for the cause of an English Parliament or equality of the nations of the UK or indeed the World!
As for the World Cup, it surprises not at all that the opportunist at 10 Downing Street is flying the Cross of Saint George any wagon and all that!
The World Cup is being hyped up awlfully especially by the BBC. Nicky Campbell (a Scot) and all co-workers from Radio 5 are out there already and will be for some time, nice work if you can get it!
June 11th, 2010 at 12:26 pmHas anyone worked out if Steve is Scottish or Welsh yet?
I’m pretty certain he’s Welsh, but wondered if anyone else had any evidence.
June 11th, 2010 at 1:10 pmHe’s Welsh and a Troll.
June 11th, 2010 at 2:09 pmSpot on lads…Its an English team not a Great british team. I’v got a T-shirt with Come On England on the back and underneath I’v wrote in black pen (IS NOT BRITAIN)
Come On

June 12th, 2010 at 7:39 amPerhaps after last night’s game they can release new t-shirts:
Q: Supporting anyone but England
June 13th, 2010 at 7:12 amA: Because England are so crap
It was the wrong kind of leather!
June 13th, 2010 at 5:25 pmIt was the wrong shape of ball!
It was the wrong colours on the ball!
The grass was obviously the wrong length!
The gloves were slightly too large for his delicate hands!
The American player put an unexpected, illegal, spin on the ball!
Umm. I’m running out of excuses here….
So are England….

Steve – you need to lay off the sherbets mate.
June 14th, 2010 at 10:10 amEnglish Bob
Hope you haven’t spent too much on The Plastic Flags on sale at Tesco, The Official Supermarket of the World Cup, you know the one, the one that won’t label any English products. They probably come from a sweat shop factory in India or China, so no one will benefit in England. Tesco would make sure of that!
I do agree with you though, and will be supporting the team wearing my SNP (Scotland Not Playing) World Cup 2010 South Africa T-shirt in the Pub for the next game, the same as last time!
Come on England and Bristol Rovers!!!!!!!!!!
June 14th, 2010 at 1:31 pmStuart…I don’t have any plastic flags from Tesco…I made some of them myself, did I sweat when they were being made… NO!. But the Wife did.
P.S What is all this back ground noise, which sounds like bees when the games are being played? because the crowd/fans are not doing it.
June 14th, 2010 at 3:06 pmDid you hear one of the usa players who was subed says he is playing for two nations…1 the usa and 2 for scotland…You could not make it up.
June 14th, 2010 at 3:16 pmSurely the US players are too good to play for Scotland?
June 14th, 2010 at 7:31 pmThe English Prime Minister has finally apologized for the atrocities in Ireland, perhaps it will be the first step in improving our relations with our Celtic neighbours, and encourage their support for our cause. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1286798/Bloody-Sunday–Saville-Inquiry-Cameron-apologises-shootings-report-blames-British-soldiers-unjustifiable-killings.html
June 15th, 2010 at 9:28 pmEnglander…
Hi Steve
June 18th, 2010 at 11:02 amI have just put a post on the BBC website:
June 21st, 2010 at 4:43 pmhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbpointsofview/F1951574?thread=7572132
Asking why there is no BBC England and also asking for a programme discussing with MPs why we do not have an ENGLISH Parliament.
Please go to this weblink and support me so we can demand that the BBC takes ENGLAND into account in all matters concerning the UK.
