God’s good servants but the government’s first

All 44 bishops of the Church of England have been asked by a churchgoer if they will hold a celebration of St. George’s Day, April 23rd -England’s own patron saint. England’s patron saint for the last 800 years. England’s patron saint before any other modern European nation was what England already was by that date, a unified country under one law and one government with the strongest possible sense of its own distinct national identity.

A mere five out of the 44 replied to say ‘Yes’. Most did not reply at all which indicates indifference. Some replied to say ‘No’. One gave as his reason that it might upset members of other faiths. One is left wondering if he -a bishop no less- has stopped making a public profession of the Christian faith for fear it might upset members of other faiths.

What the response of the bishops indicates is that the great majority of them share with both UK Government and the UK Establishment an attitude of disdain towards England, their country, the country of which they are the Established Church, an attitude of disdain towards English patriotic sentiment, something never found in Scotland, Wales and Ireland, an attitude not just one of indifference towards a sense of national identity and belonging, but also of hostility towards England itself as a distinct nation -their nation despite themselves. They are in England but not of it. Hostility towards the concept of Englishness runs very deep within the UK Government and Establishment to which the bishops belong.

All the CoE bishops were appointed by the UK Government. ‘Does it not appear’, asks the National Council of the Campaign, ‘that, yes, the great majority of them are God’s good servants but the Government’s first?’

Lets face it, the COE these days is merely a career structure for those of the middle class too ineffectual to make a living in business or the professions! Most of them don’t believe in God!

The only two bishops I have any respect for are both black and both foreigners! It tells you something of the state of both the COE and the ruling class when the most visible champions of our way of life are the Ugandan born Archbishop of York and the Asian Bsihop of Worchester.

David, we may as well accept the apathy that exists in this country of ours that not even English MPs elected in English constituencies support our patron saint or his day.

Now they have meekly accepted the fact that we are, as of today (April Fools Day)just a collection of 9 Euro regions, sneaked through by that English hating Scotsman when all the European heads of state plus a few more are taking all the headlines in the news bulletins, the Raj have made burying bad news an art form, and what do we,(yes I include myself much to my shame), do about it, absolutely “diddly squat”.
