According to the Birmingham Mail, the West Midlands is the place to be for St Georges Day celebrations.

They say that six years ago there were no St Georges Day celebrations in the West Midlands but now they are some of the largest celebrations in England.

2009 might not be quite so successful though - despite assurances from Sandwell MBC, it is still our understanding that the parade in Sandwell is not going ahead because the BNP attend.

With four months to go until St Georges Day, now is a good time to ask your local authority what they will be doing to celebrate St Georges Day in 2009.
