Wednesday 23rd April.

A St. George’s Day Celebration at The Kings Arms from 17.00 (ish) to 23.00. Food, music and ale in honour of St George. For those with the stamina a beer festival on Friday PM and all day on Saturday will follow.

Weybridge, Surrey.

Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th April.

Saturday 19th April.

London, Lords Cricket Ground.

English Wine Producers have chosen St. George’s Day for their annual trade tasting. Not one where general access is available, but good to see this growing English industry linking with St. George.

Friday 25th April.

The sixth St. George’s Day Lunch will be held at Frankie’s Bar and Grill in aid of The National Autistic Society (sorry folks, all tickets already taken!).

Marchington, Staffordshire.Friday 18th and Saturday 19th April.

The Bulls Head in Marchington has its 4th Annual St. George’s Day Celebrations. This year in aid of the British Heart Foundation and the Staffordshire Air Ambulance. 18th April: Live Music, including Shamus O’blivion & the Megadeath Morrismen. Tickets £3. Sheffield (Wisewood).Friday 25th April.

At Wisewood Methodist Church, Ben Lane, Wisewood , Sheffield, S6 4SB, a St. Georges Day Programme of traditional English music from the Brass Players, supported by Melanie Mastrotataro and Christopher Elliot. Manchester (Stretford).Sunday 20th April.

Epsom and Ewell Borough Council offer a St. George’s Day Gala Charity Concert at Epsom Playhouse. Featuring the Band of The Royal Yeomanry and Leatherhead Operatic Society it commences at at 19.30. The Royal British Legion will celebrate St. George’s Day with a concert at St. George’s Church in Hanover Square. Music and celebrity readings led by th St. George’s Choir. Champagne reception afterwards – the English don’t make champagne, but we did teach the world to appreciate it. Tickets, concert only, £25. Concert and reception £55. Ironbridge, Shropshire.Wednesday 23rd April.

The White Horse, Lincoln Hill, Ironbridge will be serving English beer and have two shire horses decked out in patriotic gear.

    Well, Google have once again decided to ignore St George. For the last couple of years St Patrick and St David have been acceptable for celebratory Google logos. But St George and St Andrew are still not fit to celebrate!

    Let’s celebrate anyway – happy St George’s Day everybody!

    P.S I see that Brown has condescended to fly the English flag on government buildings today, subservient the the union flag, not much changed there then.

    Yes , if bloody Brown accepts flying the English flag even for adat it is a major step. He is both a sly politician and foreigner who dislikes us and yet he knows the ground is shifting under his feet.

    We must keep up the presure.
