With a little over 2 weeks to go, earlier indications are that most of our readers will be taking St Georges Day off work.

Of the 110 people who have voted in our poll (in the left hand sidebar, near the bottom) 65% have said that they won’t be working on St Georges Day.  Only 27% said they will be working and 7% don’t know.

This is excellent news as it shows that there is considerable interest in marking England’s patron saint’s day.  St Patrick’s Day is celebrated up and down the country, St Andrew’s Day is a bank holiday in Scotland and St David’s Day is celebrated through Wales, especially in schools.  It is only in England that celebration of our patron saint is discouraged and ignored, a situation that must be reversed if our country and identity have any hope of survival against the programme of Britification orchestrated by the British nationalists in Westminster.

It’s not only the British nationalists in Westminster. It’s also very much the current EU set-up.

And next year it will really begin to bite. Thanks to our no mandate PM signing what he and his ilk like to call a “treaty”.

Totally disimiliar to the old EU Constitution proposal of course.

    Not.

As regards St Andrews day, it may be a “Bank” holiday, but it is not generally taken as a public holiday.

The Scottish Government would like it to become a public holday as well as St Georges day as part of the Barnett formula.

(only kidding about the last bit)
